In practice

Web Multimedia in the Real World

Rich media drives engagement across every kind of website. See how multimedia skills apply in practice.

Marketing Sites

Lifting engagement with optimised hero video

A marketing site relied on a heavy autoplay video that slowed the page to a crawl. Applying multimedia best practice, the team re-encoded the footage, chose the right video format for the web, and added a lightweight poster image. They balanced quality against file size so the media looked sharp without hurting load time.

Multimedia in action By optimising and delivering the video correctly, the page loaded far faster on mobile while still leading with rich, engaging media — improving both experience and conversions.

E-commerce

Showing products with crisp imagery and short clips

An online store’s product pages used oversized images that were slow and inconsistent. Using digital imaging and graphics skills, the team standardised resolution, colour and compression, and added short product videos developed for mobile devices. The result was a consistent, fast-loading gallery across the catalogue.

Multimedia in action Correctly prepared images and mobile-ready clips gave shoppers a clearer view of each product — reducing returns and boosting confidence at the point of purchase.

Learning Platforms

Building engaging, interactive lessons

An online learning platform wanted lessons that held attention. Combining audio, video and animation with interactivity, the team produced multimedia content that explained concepts visually — while respecting copyright and licensing for every asset used.

Multimedia in action Interactive animation and well-produced video turned dense material into engaging lessons that learners actually finished — with all media properly licensed and optimised for delivery.
