The qualification explained

AgilePM® (Agile Project Management) is a structured approach to running projects in agile environments. It’s built on the DSDM Agile Project Framework from the Agile Business Consortium and certified by APMG International. Where some agile methods focus only on the delivery team, AgilePM adds the planning, governance, and clear roles a project needs — so you stay flexible without losing control of time, cost, or quality.

The Foundation level is the entry-point qualification. It tests whether you understand AgilePM’s philosophy, principles, roles, and project lifecycle — the shared language agile teams use to deliver in increments and keep stakeholders involved throughout. You don’t need any prior experience or qualifications to take it.

AgilePM suits any project where the requirements are likely to change as you go — which, today, is most of them. It’s widely used across technology, financial services, marketing, and the public sector, and it pairs well with structured methods like PRINCE2 when an organisation needs both governance and agility.

What to Expect on Exam Day

You sit the exam online through APMG International’s remote invigilation platform. Here’s the full process, from booking to results.

Booking

When you feel ready, contact your account manager. We handle the booking with APMG International and confirm your exam date, time, and joining instructions — usually within 5–10 working days.

Equipment required

You need a laptop or desktop computer (not a mobile or tablet), a working webcam and microphone, and a stable internet connection.

On the day

Log in 15 minutes before your scheduled start. The invigilator will verify your identity using photo ID and ask you to scan your room. The 40-minute timer then begins. No notes or materials are permitted — the Foundation exam is closed book.

Results

You get a provisional pass or fail result as soon as you finish. Your official APMG International certificate and digital badge follow shortly after, with your result available in your APMG candidate portal.

Rescheduling

If you need to reschedule, contact us at least 48 hours before your exam time. We will arrange a new date at no additional charge.
